BONUS Facilitator Training - EEMpact Parenting Virtual Version Training

This is a special training developed for existing trained EEMpact Parenting Facilitators. At the completion of this training, students will be qualified to facilitate the Virtual Version of the EEMpact Parenting of Infants and Young Children program. The course is approximately 5.5 hours of online video content. Participants will also be expected to participate in a few Zoom sessions to talk about online facilitator best practices.

This virtual version has been developed during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure that the program is still accessible to the families that are seeking out or needing these kinds of resources and guidance.


When the Virtual Version is being conducted, this parenting course will be delivered over 10 weeks. Prior to the start of this course, registered participants will be sent hard-copy materials to their homes. They will also have access to course content via this online educational platform and will be expected to participant in weekly scheduled Zoom classes that will be facilitated by qualified facilitators. Participants should assume up that the course will require up to 2-hours of effort each week.

Participants will receive a certificate to recognize their completion of the program.


SPECIAL NOTE: EEMpact Parenting is the updated name and brand for the Parents Empowering Parents (PEP) program that was launched and used in the bleeding disorder community since 1996.

Danna Merritt, MSW

Danna is a licensed clinical social worker with over four decades of experience working with families that have children with serious medical conditions and special needs. She founded the original Empact Parenting program over twenty years ago and launched the Energizing & Empowering Minds non-profit in 2016 to continue to ensure that parents have access to the support that they need. Danna retired from Children’s Hospital of Michigan and lives in Noblesville, Indiana. She is a mother of two daughters with six grandchildren. She enjoys spending her spare time with her family creating experiences and memories.

When does the course start and finish?
This training will take place during the Summer of 2020. Only existing EEMpact Parenting facilitators will be invited to participate. Facilitators will be expected to complete the review of the new Virtual Version content and participate in a few group Zooms to talk about facilitating best practices.
